What is Florida contractor continuing education?
Every two years, certified and registered contractors whom are licensed under the Florida Construction Industry Licensing Board (CILB), must complete 14 hrs of approved continuing education courses in order to be able to renew their licenses. The 14 hours consists of mandatory hours in (a) Specialized or advanced module course approved by the Florida Building Commission, or the Board; (b) Workplace safety; (c) Business practices; (d) Workers' compensation; (e) Laws and rules regulating the construction industry; (f) Wind mitigation methodologies.
What can Florida DBPR continuing education do for you?
Only approved continuing education through the DBPR and in this case the CILB may be used to satisfy the 14 hrs of continuing education required. Upon completion the Florida DBPR will be notified electronically of the licensee's completion. The licensee will then be able to renew his or her contractors license with the state of Florida.

What is a CEH?
A CEH is a continuing education hour. It is equivalent to one professional development hours. One CEH is 50 minutes hours of educational instruction. For our courses we prefer to use the term professional development hour of more commonly referred as PDH.
